Source policy

Prefer current primary and authoritative sources. For welfare, disease, nesting and legal topics, use appropriate UK public bodies, recognised conservation or animal-welfare organisations, and original legislation or official guidance; a human editor must review the resulting claim.

Product specifications must be verified against a manufacturer or authorised retailer source and dated. Owner-feedback patterns may inform suitability only when they recur across genuine feedback; isolated anecdotes are not findings. Every recommendation needs a rationale and limitations in the evidence register.

Sources are recorded using the schema in the repository’s evidence/ directory, including URL, publisher, access date, claims supported and reviewer status.
